Subject: Océ UK Wide Format Imaging Supplies Price Increase

Dear customer,

Recently we have taken the difficult decision to introduce a price increase across our wide format supplies range effective January 1st 2012. We have made every effort to avoid this and will continue to work hard to provide our customers with great products at competitive prices.

The increased costs we have received are related to a combination of energy, fuel and exchange rate changes which leave us with no other option.

If you have any questions or require further information please do not hesitate to contact us, we are more than happy to help.

Kind regards,

Hayley Spalding

Dear Customer,

Small Format Media

We have recently received letters from all of the mills that manufacturer Colour Copier Paper for the UK informing us they are planning a rise for this type of paper in April 2011.

The mills price increase is being driven wholly by their increasing energy and transportation costs. Whilst we are doing everything to mitigate these increases, the reality is our manufacturers cannot contain these escalating costs.

Océ are acutely aware that general trading conditions remain difficult for all of us in the print industry so we appreciate this will not come as welcome news but as a global player in the paper industry Océ have been working hard on your behalf to minimise these increases. At present, there are no plans to have further increases in this half of the year.

The necessary price increases on the Océ Top Colour and Océ Office Colour range of papers will be effective from the        1st April 2011.

For further information, please do not hesitate to contact Océ Imaging Supplies directly on 01277 846306.

Yours Sincerely,

Dear Customer,

Wide Format Media

We have recently been informed by Avery Graphics that they are planning a rise for their self-adhesive products in April 2011.

This decision has been taken as a direct result of the rising costs of facematerials, adhesives and their raw material components. Whilst we have done our utmost to minimise the impact of an increase on our customers; we are now regretfully in a position where we must also implement a price increase.

The increase will be effective for Océ customers as of 1st May 2011 and affects our Digital product range from Avery Graphics.

If you need further information please do not hesitate to contact us on 0800 623 623.

Yours Sincerely,

Dear Customer,

Latest News: Paper pulp prices continue to rise to record levels due to recent disruption in global supply

The paper industry has been shaken by a number of recent global events, which have created heavy disruption to the supply of paper.

Strike action at 6 Swedish paper mills and the Finnish port strike has intensified the problems with supply shortages caused by the Chilean earthquake earlier this year. This disruption has caused demand for pulp to exceed supply and manufacturers are now facing much higher raw material costs. These factors have caused a steep rise in paper pulp prices. According to Foex the cost of pulp has risen by over 50% in the last 12 months and we are now approaching an all time high. In reaction to these factors paper mills have recently communicated a number of price increases, further details on these factors can be found using the press links below from The FT, Packaging News, Print Week and Business Week.

Océ are a global player in the paper industry and have been working hard to secure supplies and minimise paper price increases to our valued customers. We have been able to keep these increases down to between 5-8% so far. However, there could be further disruption during the coming summer months. Océ apologise for any inconvenience for these uncontrollable and unprecedented circumstances and we will endeavour to keep you informed of this situation as it unfolds.  If you have any questions on how this will affect you, please call your sales contact on 0800 623 623.

Yours sincerely,

Caroline Baglin
