Océ PlotWave 300 launched as all-in-one system

London, 3 August 2009— Océ, an international leader in digital document management, has introduced to the UK a new large format monochrome printer, the Océ PlotWave 300.
The system is simpler and less time-consuming for users to print, copy and scan low volumes of technical documents.
This compact, all-in-one, large format system is ideal for businesses looking to save money and space in their document production process. The Océ PlotWave 300 prints 2.3 A0s per minute and is available with one or two paper rolls. It is also available as a multifunctional version that has a much smaller footprint than its predecessors as the colour scanner is stacked on top of the printer rather than located to the side.
The new system does not suffer from stacking problems typically associated with conventional single footprint systems, such as damaged drawings and documents in the wrong order. The top delivery tray is positioned on top of the system and uses air separation to ensure documents are stacked in order and ready to use.
The Océ PlotWave 300 system can print from, or scan to, any USB memory stick and also includes a number of green features, such as purpose-built patented Océ Radiant Fusing technology that provides the most efficient way to fuse toner onto paper. Thin metallic tiles made of a highly durable alloy are used to efficiently radiate heat so they heat up and cool down very quickly. That means the system starts up instantly, uses half the energy of comparable systems, makes no noise when it is idling and requires no extra ventilation to keep it cool.
The system also uses a catalytic convertor system so that that virtually no ozone emissions are produced. This creates a healthier working environment. The compact green design of the Océ PlotWave 300 makes it suitable for businesses with limited space because it does not require extra tables or paper racks. It fits in tiny spaces and does not require ventilation.
Duncan Smith, Director of Océ UK’s Wide Format Printing Systems, said: “This new system addresses the trend to decentralised printing that we are seeing in technical documentation. In such an environment, systems must be easy to use, energy efficient and quiet, instantly ready to print when needed, and able to withstand the workload of multiple users. The Océ PlotWave 300 system, with its simple operation, energy efficiency, and durable design, satisfies all these needs better than any other product in its class.”
The Océ PlotWave 300 is constructed of solid, hard wearing materials that are designed to make it last longer than comparable systems. Critical components, such as the imaging drum and other moving parts are completely enclosed to reduce contamination and wear and tear. High use parts, like the paper drawers and panels, are made of reinforced materials to protect them from contact with dust and extend their lifetime. The separate paper paths reduce paper jams and extra wear on the system.
The unique Océ Colour Image Logic technology offers the best scanning quality in its class. It automatically compensates for wrinkles and light colours to produce superior results. Océ high resolution pico printing technology enables users to consistently produce drawings with finer details, sharper lines and text and smooth area fills.
