Océ helps customer present colorful ideas
Choice of 3 models with 24- and 36-inch print widths and 36-inch multifunctional with integrated copying and scan-to-file
Venlo, The Netherlands, 12 March 2008— Océ has introduced a new range of economic color devices that bring all kinds of wide format plans and technical information to life with outstanding sharpness and clarity. These systems are ideal for engineering designs and drawings, architectural plans and GIS plots. The range comprises 3 models: Océ CS2224, Océ CS2236, 24- and 36-inch printers, and the Océ CS2236MF multifunctional.
Choice of 24- or 36-inch printers or 36-inch multifunctional
5-ink technology (3 colors plus 2 black) for outstanding clarity, sharpness and contrast
Easy print, copy and scan with unique Océ one-touch 'green button' operation
Océ predefined color, print and copy settings eliminate repeated manual setting
Océ media profiles ensure consistent output quality on different media types
Bundled Onyx CADPro RIP for direct 'drag & drop' printing bundled and excellent HPGL/2 output
These new Océ wide format devices are optimized for CAD and GIS plots to ensure fast printing of sharp, clear line work in both color and monochrome. Thanks to their 5-ink technology—3 colors plus 2 black—with 2560 printing nozzles per color, they provide high-density black lines and text on plain paper, as well as high-contrast output even on color backgrounds. The use of marker-resistant dye ink is ideal for printing presentations and other media on which later corrections may be required. High printing speed is up to 1 minute per A0 (Océ CS2236 in draft mode). System status while printing is always instantly visible from the user's desktop, thanks to the integrated back channel communication.
Right-first-time results with Océ one-touch 'green button'
As well as fast, high-quality printing in both color and monochrome, this new range of wide format devices also includes the Océ CS2236MF multifunctional. Printing at widths of up to 36 inches, the multifunctional offers integrated copying and scan-to-file—both always right-first-time thanks to Océ's Copy Easy software and the unique one-touch 'green button' operation. Further simplifying operation, predefined print, color and monochrome, scan and copy settings eliminate the need for repeated manual settings. In addition, Océ media profiles ensure perfect matching of inks and media to the machine for consistent output quality on all types of printing media, with no need for special operator skills or training.
Versatile media handling is another plus-point of these new wide format devices. The Océ CS2224 can use both roll-fed or cut sheet paper, with a sheet cassette for fast multiple sheet loading.
Optional RIPs for direct 'drag & drop' printing
Easy operation from most applications is ensured with the standard Windows driver. Or to meet future needs or to allow direct 'drag & drop' printing of specific file formats such as HPGL or PDF without the need to open the originating application, users can add one of two (optional) RIPs.
The GraphicsPro RIP offers Postscript support with a full PANTONE color library for accurate color matching, while the CADPro RIP offers HPGL/2 support for direct printing of vector files. As well as adding one of these RIP packages, both the Océ CS2224 and CS2236 can be upgraded by adding a color scanner if the need to do so arises in the future.
With their combination of outstanding print, copy and scan quality, easy operation and versatile media handling, these wide format printers and multifunctional offer ideal solutions for users such as CAD designers, engineers, landscape architects, urban planners and many others who want clear communication and maximum creative expression without complexity.
