New Océ CS7400 Series UV Curable, Rigid- and Roll-Capable

Venlo - November 2007.   The new Océ CS7400 Series printers, including the Océ CS7440, Océ CS7460, Océ CS7445 and Océ CS7465 models, are affordable, multi-functional inkjet printers that can print onto rigid substrates or flexible roll media.  These printers are designed for a range of customers, from entrants into the display graphics industry, to experienced digital print providers.   The Océ CS7400 Series is ideal for producing indoor and outdoor point-of-sale signage, vinyl and textile banners, exhibition displays, window graphics and more.

Multi-function Printer

With the Océ CS7400 Series, users can print directly onto a variety of uncoated rigid media up to 2.54 cm (1”) thick including foam-core style boards, PVC sheets, styrene, aluminum-plastic composites and more.  The integrated tables are easily folded down to print on roll-based media such as banner vinyl, pressure-sensitive adhesive films, papers and various textiles.  
 
All four models accept roll media up to 137 cm (54”) wide.  When extended outward, the roller tables can accommodate rigid media of up to 244 cm (96”) long.
 
The Océ CS7400 Series printers use Océ IJC740 UV curable, pigmented inks that produce high quality output with an outdoor durability of up to three years. 

Variable-Drop Printheads Deliver Sharp Images and Bold Colors

The Océ CS7400 Series uses the latest generation variable-drop printheads that produce sharp images with smoother gradients, and bold solid colors.  Each model can print at 1200 x 600 dpi, 600 x 600 dpi and 600 x 300 dpi.
 

Easy to Get Started, Use and Maintain

The Océ CS7400 includes several features that make it easy to get started, easy to use and easy to maintain.  It features a simple-to-use color touchscreen panel that uses a graphical user front page interface to display printer status at a glance.  Its automatic “hands-off” maintenance and printhead cleaning routines eliminate the need for manual cleaning.  Automatic media thickness detection and head-height adjustment eliminates operator intervention when setting the head height, ensuring optimal printhead distance from the media surface.  A wizard is included for easy configuration of popular media.  

Production Print Speeds

The Océ CS7400 Series uses up to 384 nozzles per color, or up to 2,304 total jets, depending on the model.  The Océ CS7440 includes 4 printheads and supports 4 colors (CMYK); the Océ CS7460 includes 6 printheads and supports six colors (CMYKcm); the Océ CS7445 includes 8 printheads running two sets of four colors (2 x CMYK); and the Océ CS7465 includes 12 printheads running two sets of six colors (2 x CMYKcm).
 
In Production Mode (600 x 300 dpi), the Océ CS7440 and Océ CS7460 can achieve print speeds of up to 18 m2 (194 ft2) per hour, and the Océ CS7445 and Océ CS7465 can print up to 36 m2 (388 ft2) per hour.

Advanced Automation Eye

The Océ CS7400 Series includes a high-resolution imaging sensor, colorimetric spectrophotometer and embedded software to automate the setup and calibration steps critical for achieving and maintaining print quality.

AutoSet Calibration

Analyzes dot placement of printed patterns and automatically sets the head-to-head alignment and bi-directional dot placement alignment to compensate for variable print speeds, head height settings and media thickness.

AutoJet Calibration

Eliminates banding in prints and extends the useful life of the printheads by compensating with another jet for a misfiring jet.

AutoTune Scheduler

Schedules the AutoJet Calibration function to run during unattended print runs, ensuring maximum print quality and minimal media waste or reprinting.

AutoEdge Detection

Users the image sensor to aid in loading rigid media by detecting right, left and leading edges, enabling the printer to move the material into the proper position to begin printing.

The Océ CS7400 Series worldwide customer shipments have commenced in Q4, 2007.
