First orders for Océ VarioPrint 6250 system

Printshops choose world's fastest cutsheet duplex system 

Venlo, the Netherlands, 7 April 2006—Just days after the system's launch at the Océ OpenHouse 2006 in Germany, Océ has already received two orders for its new Océ VarioPrint 6250 high speed digital duplex printing system. Designed for high end commercial and corporate printing markets, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 is the world's fastest cutsheet duplex digital printing system. The new orders are from commercial print service companies DCL (Belgium) and Resource Print Solutions (UK). 

70% faster than other cutsheet duplex systems

With its high print speed of 250 duplex A4/letter or 132 duplex A3/ledger prints per minute, the Océ VarioPrint 6250 is at least 70% faster than any other high volume cutsheet duplex system available today. It meets the tremendous need for duplex printing in commercial and corporate printing environments. Even though more than 80% of jobs produced today on high volume cutsheet systems are duplex, all existing printing systems are designed for single-sided printing.

This means that each sheet must be fed through the printing process twice to produce double-sided prints. But with the new Océ Gemini Instant Duplex Technology, toner images are pressed into both sides of the paper simultaneously. The results for users are higher print productivity, greater operational efficiency and lower printing costs with offset-like quality.

DCL: exceeding customers' expectations in deadlines and quality

DCL Print & Sign in Zelzate, Belgium, offers a one-stop print and copy service for schools and companies, handling both small- and large-format orders. With the purchase of the Océ VarioPrint 6250, DCL intends to exceed its customers' expectations in terms of both deadlines and quality. "This investment will enable us to offer an even better total service, with the additional benefit of offset-quality results", said DCL's general manager Kris Hemeryck. 

Resource Print Solutions: 80% more capacity for growth projections

Resource Print Solutions in Leeds, UK, ordered a new Océ VarioPrint 6250 to handle a projected 25% increase in sales for the next 12 months. It already has three Océ VarioPrint 2110 machines and an Océ CPS (Colour Production System) 900 to handle its core business from major companies and government bodies. Managing director Phil Thomson is confident that the Océ VarioPrint 6250 will be the answer to their current and future needs. "Through winning new business we have seen our volumes grow dramatically over the last 12 months, and we are delighted with what Océ has done. We now need to look ahead, and believe that the Océ VarioPrint 6250 will be key to meeting market demands. The system will give us 80% more capacity, which we will need to cater for our growth projections where the vast majority of our monochrome work is double-sided."

New opportunities for commercial printshops

The Océ VarioPrint 6250 will offer new opportunities to commercial printshops who can build their business by taking on more jobs, producing more double-sided output in less time and offering a higher service level to their customers. Thanks to its high speed and quality it is a new alternative for graphic arts printers for the short-run production of books. Another key market for the Océ VarioPrint 6250 is the in-house corporate printroom where higher speed duplex printing will mean more efficient production of manuals, technical documentation and other corporate information. The Océ VarioPrint 6250 is suitable for production volumes of between 600,000 and 8,000,000 prints per month.
