Manchester Metropolitan University

Managing ever more powerful IT systems has become a fact of life for technical support departments, whatever their sector or speciality. At the Faculty of Art and Design at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), the ICTS Team look after not only some of the most powerful computer systems within the University, but also support the Central Campus Printing Facility, including six wide format colour printers. One of the challenges facing the Team has been how to meet the peaks in demand for wide format colour prints from the 3,000+ art and design students and staff.

HRC Reprographic Manager Sandra Phelps oversees a small print room team that manages the requirements of both academic staff and approximately 20,000 students. And as is often the case in educational establishments, at the backbone of the printroom's success is Océ.
